Vacancy: Delphi / C++ Developer

At Mapix technologies we specialise in LiDAR. Under our Routescene brand we design, develop and manufacture integrated 3D mapping solutions specifically for use on drones. We have been awarded a COVID-19 grant to accelerate the R&D of our LidarViewer Pro post-processing software within a rapid timeframe: this role is instrumental in fulfilling this opportunity. It is anticipated the outcome will contribute tangibly to the future growth of the business and enable our customers worldwide to undertake their projects in a more efficient and effective manner.

We are a growing company with a small, highly knowledgeable team who work closely together and have a strong team ethic where everyone shares responsibility for driving the business forward.

We are looking for a software developer with at least 5 years development and software-design experience to take full responsibility for the development, maintenance and evolution of the software, a Windows 10 Desktop application. You will enjoy significant autonomy to deliver this substantial responsibility.

In this predominantly coding role reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for the full development life cycle from the implementation and maintenance of new features and functionality; migration from 32 to 64 bit; the robustness and quality of the software through the development of automated testing; management of version control; documentation; respond and liaise with the technical support team to resolve defects and functionality constraints identified by customers; recommendations on the continual improvement and future progression of the software.

To be successful in the role, you will have experience of the full software development life cycle, be familiar with the SOLID principles of object-oriented programming, OpenGL, multi threading, Dynamic Link Libraries, and an understanding of UX. You will be self motivated, can manage your workload and prioritise tasks to ensure tight deadlines are met, are thorough with meticulous attention to detail, and can establish collaborative working relationships to understand requirements and communicate ideas.

Previous Delphi RAD or C++ experience is essential as is a highly mathematical mind to solve complex problems.

Ordinarily the role will be based in the Mapix technologies office in Edinburgh, however, in the current COVID-19 circumstances there will be a blend of office based and remote home working.
