3D LiDAR sensor for mid-range applications
The new Velodyne Puck 32MR (VLP-32MR) offers a cost effective solution for low speed applications. By utilising Velodyne’s patented technology it provides the same level of detail as the Velodyne Ultra Puck (VLP-32). The new Puck 32MR has a reduced range of up to 120m and lower price. It uses proven Class 1 eye-safe technology using 905 nanometer (nm) wavelength laser.
The Puck 32MR with its range of up to 120 meters is ideal for uses at lower speeds. For instance with autonomous industrial vehicles, robotics and shuttles. By using surround view perception in all light conditions this LiDAR sensor is suitable for situations both inside and outside.
The VLS-32 (Puck 32MR) detects pavements, kerbs, vehicles, people, cyclists and other objects for use on roads. The sensor also accurately detects obstacles in warehouse aisles and in other industrial applications. This new sensor provides industry leading reliability in a compact size.

Mapix test dataset
We have evaluated the Puck 32MR at our own test location in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. The location has been specifically chosen as it is an urban setting with roads, buildings, pedestrians and vehicles.
